Flats and Stripes

Dress: French Connection UK // Jacket: Forever 21, similar from James Perse // Belt: from a boutique in Paris, similar here from JCrew // Loafers: TopShop // Nails: OPI

There’s nothing like a day of gorgeous San Francisco weather to take a capricious sunset stroll along the Pacific Ocean!  With the black and white trend all over New York Fashion Week, I was happy to be able to pull this striped French Connection UK dress out of my closet (that I last wore in this post) and be able to hang out along the shore with a light utility jacket.  98% of the time I’m wearing heels, but opted for a casual, daytime look with some flat leather loafers and a warm-hued Parisian belt cinched at the waist.  It was fun to change things up and trying on a pair of flats for a spin…but I definitely missed my usual heels height-boost!

Morning Fog

Top: French Connection // Pants: JCrew, similar here // Shoes: Vera Wang Lavender // Necklace: Forever 21, similar here // Sunglasses: Dior // Bag: Vince Camuto, same one in brown, black, beige, and white

Its pretty typical for San Francisco to be blanketed in fog in the early morning but then (hopefully!) the sun starts to come out.  But when the skies are grey and it looks a bit dreary out I have a hard time throwing on my cutest summer threads and tend to dress for the weather more than the current calendar month.  This morning I was heading over to my local La Boulange de Hayes for an early morning breakfast and a summer look would just not do. With my grey skies backdrop, I opted for my latest favorite neutral color–olive, and blended with the elements.  And like clockwork, the sun broke through the fog and I did a quick outfit change into something more sun loving (pink perhaps?)!  Have a wonderful weekend!
