I did a little inventory in my closet recently and discovered that I truly have an affinity for skirts (but that’s no secret…)!  But my favorite in particular is this pencil skirt.  I love styling up pencil skirts for the office or even for a more fancy, girls weekend brunch (like in the case of this outfit).  The cut is so flattering for all body types and is wonderful to create or enhance your shape.  Tracy Reese created a gorgeous skirt with her stripes and flowers motif, and this skirt has me raising my brunch mimosa to toast to pencil skirts and all of the beautiful women who wear them!  Cheers!

Its been a lot of fun to wear deep, rich colors and festive plaid prints over the holidays but I’ve found myself looking for something lighter and fresher as we head into 2013.  For a casual brunch outfit, I put on my rarely worn jeans and paired them with a textured Zara sweater and Tart Collections feathered vest that is as pretty as fresh-made pink cotton candy!  It’s the perfect combination of warm layers that feel light and airy yet keep you toasty warm…like a cup of hot chocolate during a January brunch!
