Hey guys! Just like fashion changes from season to season, so does our skin’s needs and makeup routine. Since I’m now boxing up some of my winter boots and coats, I’ve also done a bit of spring cleaning in my makeup bag to toss out old products. I find that by making a few tweaks to my beauty routine as the seasons change really helps boost my complexion and my skin feels so much more refreshed and alive! It’s funny how switching up a few products here and there can really change your entire look. In the spirit of fresh-faced spring beauty, I recently went on a mini beauty shopping spree at my local drugstore to pick up some new goodies to try out. I’ve been a long-time CoverGirl fan so I’ve been anxious to try out some of their new mascaras and foundations. Here are my picks for the best of the drugstore beauty aisle to refresh your spring beauty look:
The CoverGirl + Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation is exactly what my skin needs. Its non-greasy moisture plus a build-able coverage is great for everyday wear and I love that a little goes a long way. I apply a half pump to my finger tips, dab over my face, and blend for velvety, flawless coverage.
The CoverGirl + Olay Pressed Powder is a must-have for when I’m on the go. I keep this compact in my bag for touch ups and oil control. And the compact mirror is great… I find myself using it when I apply all of my makeup!
The CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher Mascara has a perfectly designed brush to give my lashes volume and length but without giving me ‘spider-eyes’. Pro Tip: To really extend your lashes, apply mascara at different angles–straight on, diagonally to the left, and diagonally to the right. I find it gives me a more amplified lash!
The CoverGirl LashBlast 24 HR Mascara seriously does. not. quit! I apply this mascara in the morning and it takes me from morning meetings to late night dinner–all while looking fresh.
To complete my spring look in addition to my fresh-faced makeup, I opted for a powdery pink DKNY top in the softest chiffon ever and a gorgeous statement necklace from Emmajoy…I’m obessed with the peach chevrons! Great post! Except I have great skin and I don’t use most of those products. I would, however, like your expertise on hair coloring. I think I’m starting to develop some gray hairs and I want to know the best way to cover them up and look my best. Any ideas???
