girls’ spa night

I’ve been traveling to Seattle the past couple weeks working on a few projects but it’s always great to travel to different cities to meet up with old friends who I haven’t seen in awhile.  My friend Amanda and I decided to spend a particularly rainy night inside doing a girls night in, complete with some beauty products pampering.

It’s funny how some of your favorite nights end up being spur of the moment, right?  We were picking up groceries to spend the night in cooking and catching up when Amanda got the urge to update her look for spring and dye her hair!  We headed to the beauty aisle and picked out a few items to try while our salmon filets and asparagus grilled away.

Amanda lightened up her locks with Clairol Nice n’ Easy to take her dark blonde up a shade for a sun-kissed look and she loved the easy application.  I’d recently had my hair colored so I opted for a conditioning treatment instead.  I tried out Vidal Sassoon’s Smoothing Cleansing Conditioner by applying it to my dry hair and then wrapping my hair up in saran wrap and then a warm towel.  I like doing this method for hair masques because it really lets the product work its way in and penetrate the hair to get it silky smooth!  Since we were already looking ridiculous (but gorgeous!) with saran wrap on our heads, we applied the Olay Regenerist Luminous Overnight Mask to complete our look and hydrate our skin overnight—also I love the smell of this stuff!

Since we clearly were looking silly…we opted to put the camera down and instead save those ‘wonderful’ shots for Snapchat (find me at @justaddglam!).  What do you like to do to mix up your beauty routine for spring?
