Summertime is here and I’m so excited to enjoy the season! This summer my mantra is slowing down and focusing on making the memories that I’ll remember forever. Since moving into the house almost two years ago at this point, one of our favorite things to do is enjoy the backyard space (which after this past winter’s El Nino storm…it’s been awhile since we’ve been out here!). We also recently became backyard chicken parents so it’s been fun watching the dogs play with the chickens and run around in the open space (I’m so surprised that they get along as well as they do!)
To make our new summer memories, our backyard hangouts now consist of putting out the couch cushions, plugging in the party lights, turning on a great playlist, and lounging with friends and delicious Magnum ice cream bars. There’s nothing like ice cream bars to make it feel like summer–they give me the nostalgic feeling of my childhood when the ice cream man would drive down the street and we would run out to get a treat. I picked up a few varieties of Magnum bars from Safeway for this particular get together with a small group of friends because they are so easy as a hostess too… just pull them out of the freezer and let guests have at them. I also served them up with a small bowl of raspberries (I love raspberry and chocolate together!) so the dogs could have a treat too. And even when it’s just our little family together in the backyard, I love how we can create a summertime weekend feeling anytime, even if it’s a Tuesday night!

I am loving the backyard space! It’s really lovely and it’s a great place to spend most of the days of the summer. I think those magnum bars are perfect especially when the weather is extra warm!
The backyard looks so nice! I wouldn’t mind spending my summer days there as well. It’s really comfy and you’re not exposed to the sun. Ice cream is always a lovely idea during the summer what more if it’s Magnum!
I had some of those Magnum bars the other day, the raspberry variety. They were really good! I would love to have some more. They would be really good on a hot summer day.

I love Magnum ice cream bars. My favorites are Double Caramel, Double Chocolate, Almond, and Mochaccino. They are so smooth and creamy. Perfect for a warm day! Yummy.
