Sequinned

Dress: Monteau // Jacket: Zara // Bag: Paolo Masi // Shoes: Vera Wang Lavender // Sunglasses: Dior // Earrings: Macy’s // Nailpolish: Essie Bikini So Teeny

One style technique that I love is using mixed media/prints to create depth and texture to an outfit.  It can be a bit tricky to get it right but keeping a complimentary color palette will take your look to that next level and make it that little extra bit of chic.  I found this Monteau dress this past week and my jaw practically hit the floor when I saw the gorgeous white lace.  I actually already have this dress in another color, here, but I’m always a sucker for the lighter, softer colors.  Naturally, this white lace number had to make a home in my closet, right?.  I kept the theme of soft, feminine touches by adding my sequinned Zara jacket.  Often times sequins bring thoughts of disco balls and go-go dancers but these sequins are not too sparkly where it can be easily worn day and night.  The lace and sequins together add such a nice texture to the outfit.  I think Blair Waldorf would be proud.

Thanks V! It was a bit of an impulse purchase at Zara but I’m glad I did, it goes with a lot of different looks from dresses to worn-in boyfriend jeans. Taking a look at the cashmere giveaway now!

Victoria–I’m secretly (okay…not so secretly!) a big Gossip Girl fan! I would love to raid that show’s costume closet and bring it all home with me, haha! Thank you so much for your comment 🙂

Jackie! I’m so glad you like the combination. I thought the lace and Chanel-qualities of the jacket looked cool with a little extra edge from the sequins. Unexpected for sure! Have a wonderful day!

Thank you for your comment Ani! I did a little double-dose on the statement pieces….sequins and lace, but I love them together 🙂
