As a newer Apple Watch user, I’ve been discovering new apps for wellness and health that I have been absolutely loving. I’ve found myself becoming more accountable and tracking my lifestyle right from my wrist, so there’s definitely less room for excuses. From water drinking reminders to a minute of breathing focus every hour, I’ve found some of the greatest apps to help you crush those New Year goals. Check out my personal holy grail of wellness apps below!
The activity app that comes with the watch is great for staying accountable throughout the day. This app sends you encouraging messages every few hours to remind you to stand up, move around, and exercise. There are daily and monthly challenges to complete that win you awards and badges. I always feel so accomplished when all three of my rings are closed by the end of a busy day.
Drinking water throughout the day is so important for your body, which is why I’m obsessed with this water app. The app calculates your daily water intake and sends you reminders to drink more often. The water app also allows you to win awards for your daily water intake and offers great tips about water. If you’re interested in why I’m so passionate about drinking enough water, check out my blog on why I drink 100oz of water a day.
Intermittent fasting is a great way to improve your health. The zero fasting app is the world’s most popular fasting app and is amazing for tips on intermittent fasting for your personal needs. I do OMAD (one meal a day) fasting for weight loss and other health benefits. OMAD is a 4 hour eating period with a 20 hour fasting period. Use this app to find the right fasting method for you.
The breathe app is amazing for reminding you to focus on your breathing patterns. As the busy mama I am, it’s so easy for me to forget to relax and be mindful of my breathing. This app encourages me to set aside a few minutes each day to have my “me time” while focusing on regular breathing.
Yoga is one of the best exercises to stretch out your body and find your inner zen. I love that the pocket yoga app has so many different flows, yoga, guided audio, and visual instructions to choose from. The app logs your yoga workouts to track your progress and also connects to the activity app to track exercise and calorie count.

The calm app offers guided meditations and stretching, breathing exercises, mindful movement sessions, and more! I honestly love this app because it reminds me how much meditation can improve my mood. I think we could all benefit from this app right now.
This is your on-the-go gratitude journal! During the day, simply tell the app how you’re feeling and it sends you uplifting quotes for motivation. It seems so simple, but I find so much joy in getting these inspirational quotes throughout the day and I really think you will too.
Managing a steady heart rate is so much more important than we realize, which is why I really value this free heart rate tracker. Cardiogram shows you how well your heart is working over time. The app uses the data it finds to tell you how your heart reacts to different foods, exercises, and more.
