Finally getting around to telling you guys about my massive haircut! I’ve been loving all of the cute lobs–long bobs–coming out and I decided to pull the trigger and chop off eight inches to join the party. It’s crazy how emotional we can be over our hair, I’d be lying if I didn’t internally freak out when the first eight inch chunk felt to the floor. Having a shorter cut feels liberating from the hours I’d spend washing, untangling, drying, and curling my hair. Now I just wash, don’t even need to brush, and can let it air dry and still have it look good. I’m so loving this trend right now and haven’t even thought twice about popping long extensions in.
If you’re looking to make the chop, I recommend going with a stylist you trust. I’ve mentioned my ‘dream team’ at Sassoon Salon before (Nathan and Michael) and I’d felt comfortable knowing that they were able to envision exactly what I wanted with the cut and color. Sasoon Salon recently launched their SS16 TORQUE collection which includes the trend of hair contouring (yes it’s a thing!) Not only did Michael remove length to give me my long bob, he added dimension and contour to the shape to make it ‘ready to wear’ and maintenance free. I’m not kidding when I say I don’t need to brush my hair anymore–seriously. Taking a bit here and there and contouring my cut helped provide more shape for my thick hair–which without it can start to look a little lampshade! And if I want to add a bit of a wave to it, I quickly heat up a curling rod and put a few messy bends in it. I’m so so obsessed with the color and cut and highly suggest you go for this cut too. It’s so easy to wear and so cute!

Change is good and you are owning this new cut! Feeling the urge to switch up my color soon since I can’t part with the length. Although, I would give anything to not have to carry a hairbrush with me everywhere. Long, tangly hair problems!
