I wanted to share with you guys some of my essentials that I need to bring when I head out on a mini weekend getaway. When I’m packing for a overnight or two day trip, its really easy for me to forget things when I know I’ll be back home quickly. So I’ve streamlined my quick list of must have items so I never forget to pack them and am prepared. Let’s jump right in!
The perfect pair of boots
Many times on trips I’ll pack impractical shoes and be frustrated when my feet start hurting. So I make sure to pack a pair of shoes that I can walk around all day in and these booties have been my go-to recently. I love the vintage natural leather look!
Shampoo and Conditioner
I’ve been doing weekly or twice weekly coconut oil masks on my hair to hydrate my ends from color treatment, but the thought of bringing along a jar of coconut oil and doing a mask on my hair isn’t practical for a weekend trip. When I want to keep my coconut oil benefits up, I bring along Suave Coconut Oil Infusion shampoo and conditioner. I’m addicted to all things coconut so I’m not surprised! Having a shampoo and conditioner infused with coconut oil also helps keep my hair healthy against the elements (the salty ocean air from last weekend’s trip to Jenner, CA and the dry desert at next weekend’s Coachella trip! A jacket that goes with everything
When I’m going for a quick trip I like to minimize the amount of stuff I need to lug along, so I find one perfect jacket that can serve all purposes and go with all outfits. This denim moto jacket is a conversation starter–everyone has asked about it!–and can be dressed up or down for daily excursions or dinner at night.
Portable battery pack
This is a no-brainer for someone who is on their phone 24/7 but I’ve forgotten it before! When I’m traveling I’m using my phone for photos, videos, social media, etc to capture the moment so I need to make sure I have a backup battery in my purse so I don’t miss a moment because of 3% battery.
We love taking weekend trips to explore but the hardest part is leaving behind our little pups Lola and Penny! I feel like every time I pull out my suitcase or duffle bag, they know we are headed somewhere and give us those puppy-dog eyes. One thing on my list this summer is to find more dog friendly hotels and destinations to add to our list–until then Grandma and Grandpa’s house!

I don’t take any trips without spare USB cables and a wireless charger. I’m all about photodocumenting and recording all aspects of my trips.
I always pack shampoo and conditioner. Hotels may have it but it’s not always good quality and it can totally wreck my hair!
Great list! I don’t go anywhere without my favorite pair of boots. I just recently tried the Suave coconut infusion, and it is wonderful! I love the scent of coconut, and it really does wonders on my dry hair.

Bringing along your shampoo and conditioner is a good idea. You never know what you’re going to get at hotels so it’s good to bring something reliable.
Lovin your dogs! Your must haves are right on. My daughter stole my favorite go to jean jacket and I have been on the hunt for a one.
My hair only behaves it I use the same brand shampoo and conditioner, so every time I go on a trip, you can be sure that my bag has bottles of shampoo and conditioner. I will have to try that Coconut Oil infusion shampoo too. I also pack light, but it is a different story coming back. 🙂

Weekends away are so tough because you need to pack enough but not too much. I have always been a fan of the Suave products so I need to get the coconut conditioner.

I always forget to pack my charger so I end up buying a compatible one when I get to my destination. End result? A gazillion chargers at home. And still I forget to take one when I go on a trip. For road trips, it is no problem because I have a car charger. I guess I have to make a list next time and tape it in the inside of my luggage so I make sure I don’t forget anything ever again.
Backup charger is #1 on my travel list too! Your dogs are adorable
