Whenever I’m traveling, I opt for a look that is casual and comfortable enough to be sitting for an extended period of time–yet still pulled together enough to arrive at my destination in style. My last travel style post shared my look as I headed off to Las Vegas but for this post we’re looking at a much shorter trip.
I’m not even sure if we should call this a road trip, but I have so much fun driving with my brother that any car ride longer than thirty minutes feels like a road trip. When he picked me up the other day to take us to our parent’s house, naturally I suggested we shoot outfit photos with an old VW bug instead of getting on the road…priorities, right?
The two key pieces of my travel outfit are the faux fur vest and the booties. I like the idea of layering while traveling so you can adjust for warmth and this TART Collections vest is the perfect piece for fall travel. It keeps me warm and doubles as blanket for taking a quick passenger seat nap. Whether I’m driving or riding as a passenger, I like to have comfortable footwear for the longer rides. My Sperry booties are go-to whenever I want a lux looking bootie–but they seriously feel like comfortable flats when you’re wearing them. Love sneaky fashion!
For Andrew, comfort is the name of the game. Give him a t-shirt and some Rag & Bone chinos and he’s set in the clothing department. My brother is actually a professional racecar driver (yes ladies, please form a line to the left…) so he looks for more supportive shoes and boots when he’s traveling. Ever since he got these Sperry boots, I don’t think I’ve seen him wear anything else. The boot hits right at the ankle which is on trend and completely functional for all that clutch-gas action.
