I’ve really perfected the art of the backyard hangout, if I do say so myself. I try to spend at least one day per weekend outside with friends to enjoy the insanely gorgeous weather while catching up. Not to mention, these backyard hangouts with friends are more budget-friendly that rounds of drinks at a local bar. Hey, more funds for the dream house and summer sandals, right?
I first tried this beer-margarita recipe at a Cinco de Mayo party and I LOVED IT. I knew I needed to replicate it and serve some of this lime-y goodness to my friends over Memorial Day weekend. Check out the recipe below
Serves 4
- 8 oz beer (I went with Bud Light Lime—extra lime flavor for the margs!)
- 4 oz margarita mix (or juice equivalent)
- 4 oz tequila
- 2 limes
- ice
Combine together beer, margarita mix, tequila, and ice and mix. Serve into four glasses and squeeze fresh lime on the surface. Garnish with lime and enjoy!
Super difficult recipe, right? After making a couple of batches of these, I just ended up eyeballing my pours and they turned out just as yummy. I love the tart kick of lime, and the Bud Light Lime mixed with fresh lime is so refreshing! These babies fueled a long afternoon of fun times with my friends filled with laughs, music, bbq, and the pups. Take that, $15 San Francisco margarita!
