I find myself leaning towards little stocking stuffer gifts for friends and family rather than one big gift because I like the idea of having elements that are thoughtful, funny, functional, and pretty–and one gift can’t always hit all those requirements. This season I’ve been moving away from wrapping a bunch of small gifts and instead putting them together in a modern gift basket. The big cellophane wrapped basket feels a bit dated to me so I wanted to share my more modern take on making your own DIY customized gift box–and it this case an at-home spa giftbox with some favorite products from my favorite Target (the addiction is real)!
How to Make your Own DIY Customized Gift Box
I started by heading over to the specialty bath products aisle to select my favorites to assemble my gift. I knew I wanted a selection of shower gel, hand cream, face wipes, a scrub, a mask, and bath tools. Some of my favorites that I found were The Bathery scrub brush and natural loofah (I have the brush in my shower myself!)–they look so expensive but are actually a major deal!–the JR Watkins lemon hand cream while smells so good (just like a lemon bar from the bakery), and Neutrogena cleansing wipes in pink grapefruit. I also picked up a cute tin to hold everything, some gift bag filler, and a cute reindeer gift tag to tie it all together. I tried to select my favorite items that were in the same color-theme to look cohesive and not like a random mix of products, down to matching the natural colored gift filler with The Bathery natural brush and loofah.
Now here comes the fun part, organizing all of them items in the customized gift box to display it in a pretty way (and more importantly make it all fit). I started putting larger bottles standing up in the back and putting smaller items in front in tiers.

And there you have it! I plan on giving this gift open like this (versus putting the lid on it or wrapping in cellophane) because I think it looks like a little treasure chest of fun bath goodies for a customization spa day at home.
P.S. Normally I would have cropped this last photo but I love the look on Lola’s face like, “Mom, why are you on the kitchen counter?”. Anything to get the shot-haha!
