GREY LIPS AND A BAND TEE

As much as I love my girly-girl glam, I also have my alter ego edgy girl side. Big black hats, ripped jeans, and big sunglasses are my favorite pieces to channel that side. For the last day of summer in San Francisco, I brought out my edgy side for lunch with the girls. I’m thankful that jeans and a tee are on trend for the off-duty look because it’s so comfortable and wearable.

To kick up my beauty look, I wanted to try something different so I enlisted the help of my local Target Beauty Concierge to help me hunt for the perfect je ne sais quoi for this look. Monica from Target helped me in the beauty aisle to get a bolder look.  We decided on a matte grey lip to play up the grey blue colors in my shirt and get a bit of that Instagram-edge you find on the amazing beauty accounts. Grey lip pencils can be hard to find, so we used a few different pencils to create the perfect shade of grey. I used the NYX pencils in colors milk and black bean.  It’s helpful to have an expert in the beauty aisle when I’m looking to try something different and Monica helped push me to try this different look.  I surprisingly hadn’t tried out the NYX pencils before but really enjoyed the creamy consistency and ease of blending for me to achieve this grey hue.

Even though summer is ending, I’m still keeping this cool grey lip in my arsenal for the final hot days in San Francisco. It’s 95 degrees in the city—but my lips can still be edgy cool.
