QUARANTINE CLEANING: A COMPLETE HOME CLEANING LIST TO TAKE CARE OF WHILE AT HOME

COMPLETE HOME CLEANING LIST

COMPLETE HOME CLEANING LIST | Home Cleaning Checklist by popular San Francisco lifestyle blog, Just Add Glam: image of a woman going through a wire basket of cleaning supplies.

I have to admit that we fell pretty behind with our home projects and chores in recent months (hey…new baby life!). While being at home during the COVID-19 pandemic has definitely been a challenging adjustment, it has given us more time as a family to accomplish a lot of the projects we have had on our to-do list for months. Many of these projects are very important but ones that often fly under the radar and most people forget about. I hope to accomplish many of these, and more, over the next few weeks and months as we continue practicing social distancing and self isolation. See below my complete home cleaning checklist to take care of while at home!

HOME CLEANING CHECKLIST

1. Paint Touch Ups

There are quite a few areas of our house that could use just a little bit of love and touch ups:

  • Spray paint old smoke alarms that have yellowed over time
  • Spacle and paint old holes and nicks (e.g. old nail holes from frames!)
  • Magic eraser on smudges on walls
  • Fix mistakes from past paint jobs (admittedly we have a few of these to do)
  • Paint front door (we all know these doors take some abuse)

2. Unusual Cleaning

When we clean the house we stick to the typical deep clean of bathrooms, floors, and surfaces. However, there are lots of places that don’t get as much love on a weekly basis:

  • Wipe down baseboards
  • Clean out washing machine (using this washing machine cleaner!)
  • Dust ceiling fans
  • Steam clean upholstered furniture
  • Deep clean appliances
  • Wipe down devices (remotes, phones, alarms, thermostats)
  • Drains (pour boiling water down your drain, add in baking soda, followed by vinegar, cover drain opening and let sit)
  • Curtains (throw them in the washing machine if you can, or steam!)
  • Trash cans
  • Make-up tools and bags/organizers
  • Indoor plants

3. Exterior Cleaning

  • Power washing home exterior
  • Power washing sidewalks/paths
  • Deep clean porch furniture
  • Wash window screens
  • Wash your cars
  • Hose down trash receptacles
  • Replace and clean exterior light fixtures

4. Replace Filters

This is one we have been putting off too long. Some of the filters we know we need to replace in our house include:

  • Water purifier
  • Air filtration systems (heater, air conditioning units/central air, furnace, etc.)
  • Vacuum
  • Dehumidifier
  • Dryer

5. Vacuuming

It’s not just for your carpets!

  • Vacuum under the beds and couches
  • Vacuum under couch and chair cushions and nooks and crannies
  • Vacuum at baseboards with the tip attachment
  • Vacuum out drawers for dust and random crumbs
  • Vacuum air vents for collected dust

Finally tried @dintaifungusa and wow! So good! Her Finally tried @dintaifungusa and wow! So good! Here’s what we ordered:

🌟Cucumber Salad - a bright and light starter I’d love to make these at home (and @glucosegoddess would be proud!)
🌟String Beans with Garlic - I would have eaten 3 more orders of this had they not been $16/each. I’ve already been searching for copy cat recipes because they are just SO DAMN GOOD
🌟Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao - these are their classic soup dumpling and very yummy and chewy and I loved the soy-vinegar sauce pairing with it
🌟 Sticky Rice & Kurobuta Pork Shao Mai - these were recommended in a TikTok video but they weren’t my favorite. The rice plus the dough was just too much IMO
🌟 Chicken Spicy Wontons - these were very good! I would drink the bowl of sauce if no one was watching…
🌟 Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao - wow, what a great to end the meal! We don’t order dessert often but this really good. Love the melty creamy chocolate!

Can’t wait to go back! Have you been? You’ve got to try it!
I waited to share putting my 2023 vision board tog I waited to share putting my 2023 vision board together until late January because there it’s so much buzz around the new year and goal setting around the start of the new year…but how about waiting until the buzz around it starts to fade? I’ve been committed since 12/31/2022 but if you need some fresh inspiration for 2023…here you go!

Last year I made a digital vision board in Canva with about 8 vague photos and I never looked at it. This year, I got a huge poster board and nearly 100 very specific images of the things I want. VERY specific. In the short 3 weeks having this propped up in my office and seeing it each day, I’m already seeing the needle moving on these items!

Have you created a vision board or set goals for 2023? What doe is mean to you? How are you achieving your goals this year? #goalsetting #visionboard
