home office essentials

Hey guys!  I thought it would be fun to share a behind the scenes look of my home office where I work on all things blogging related.  I often like to pop into coffee shops and cafes to work on blog posts since its fun to get outside and I love the ambient noise of coffee machines and customer chatter–but for when I have meetings and phone calls, its best to stay at my desk.  Keep on reading through to see what essentials I have at my desk!Even though I’m tech obsessed, I still love putting pen to paper.  For my day to day schedule and to-do lists, I use various notebooks and colored pens to keep myself organized.  This ‘run the world’ notebook from GiGi New York is especially fun for goal setting and brainstorming new ideas.

I rotate coffee table books around on my desk as well.  Right now I have The World in Vogue: People, Parties, Places at my fingertips.  It’s a gorgeous book and is great to flip through for inspiration!
I use a Canon camera with various lenses for my blog photos but I got this smaller Samsung NX300 earlier this summer for a more compact camera to travel with.  It’s great to keep in my bag and capture shots that inspire me…not to mention the automatic wifi is perfect to send images to my phone for Instagram on the go!

I’ve been using the HP Intel hybrid this summer and its been great for both travel fun (I brought in on vacation in this post) and blog business.  When I’m putting together a post, I like to stream music–from jazz, hip hop, classical, top 40, etc–it’s such great inspiration to let music into your mind (I’m actually listening to John Legend while I’m writing this post…).  Streaming music is a lot of fun when using the hybrid’s built in Beats by Dre sound system, it definitely packs a punch with the bass!My hybrid laptop is also great for video chatting with my fabulous social media intern Tedi!  She’s the cutest ever and a critical part of the JAG team…can’t live without her! 🙂 More notebooks, a lipstick for stepping out to shoot blog photos, and my iPhone always within an arms reach!I love to have fresh flowers around and usually pick up a bouquet from the farmer’s market weekly.  The fresh scent keeps me motivated when tackling my inbox seems like a never ending task.
