I looked up this week’s weather report on my phone and was really bummed out to see that San Francisco would be in a downpour for what seems like an eternity…but my car could use a bath, so…..
San Francisco is well known for its hipster fashion–and I needed to debut a hipster staple: the plaid shirt. Plaid has always reminded me of lumberjacks and the Brawny paper towel guy, and didn’t seem to be the cutest of styles but I was up for the challenge to glam-up this San Francisco style. When mixing a black leather pencil skirt (so warm, so comfortable…can I please live in this?!?) and some ridiculous-awesome jewelry bling to plaid pattern–this mountaineer plaid has transformed into ‘well hello Miss Lumberjack!’
I hope everyone has a fun St. Patrick’s Day day this weekend! I plan on celebrating with a Celtic punk-rock performance tonight (mental note: what do I wear to that?!?). This weekend I’ll be traveling to Los Angeles to visit my BFF Paris, watch her talk-of-the-town play The Water’s Edge and celebrate her birthday! Now I just hope that this San Francisco rain doesn’t follow me down there…fingers crossed!

I never would have thought of dressing up a plaid shirt, but I’m definitely going to give it a try, since New England weather is icky as well 🙂
Jennifer says
You understand my pain Sarah, there is fog in SF practically everyday so you gotta dress for the elements a bit!

The flanel is anything but lumberjack with the leather skirt – great combination. Definitely not 90’s grunge or hipster at all.
Jennifer says
Haha, thanks Jane! Yeah its funny how plaid can be transformed with the right pieces!
