I always love conversations that start with one idea and slowly keep developing and getting deeper and the next thing you know, you’re talking about a subject that is completely off from your original topic. I met one of my girlfriends for coffee the other morning and through our conversation we got on the topic of giving back and “what would you do if money were no object and you could give back to the world in any way”. Needless to say, we had some grand ideas of what different projects we would want to create and work on and it was really interesting to connect to share our passions together. Isn’t it fun to dream?
It feels good to give back and when I find avenues to mix my love for fashion with social responsibility and technology…its right up my alley! I recently discovered the app Orange Harp which is a wonderfully curated marketplace featuring socially conscious fashion, jewelry, and beauty items–and the first I’ve seen of its kind. I found this perfect summer dress from Spanish brand Skunkfunk (what a great name, haha!) on Orange Harp and I’m loving the print as well as its social mission of being created from sustainable textiles. Its fun to mix and match fashion to create a new look where you feel more connected to what you wear, as a representation of who you are and an expression of yourself.
If you haven’t already checked out the app, I highly recommend downloading it and taking it for a spin. From organic textiles, to cruelty-free beauty products, to socks that donate one pair for every pair sold to someone in need–there is something for everyone (I hope my Dad isn’t reading this because he just might be getting some of those Mitscoots socks for Father’s Day…)
In addition to this lovely Skunkfunk dress, I’m also loving the vegan FlowerColor lipsticks from Ecco Bella (who knew gluten-free lipstick was a thing?!?), this handmade emerald ring from Love and Piece, and the natural mint-infused botanic bath soaks from Pura Botanica. Download Orange Harp in the app store here and check out my favorite pieces and discover your own fashion that gives back! What are your favorite brands and pieces on the Orange Harp app that keep you stylish while partaking in socially conscious shopping?
