TIPS TO UP YOUR WATER INTAKE

Drinking clean, crisp water is one of my best tips to have clear and radiant skin, increased energy, and overall good feelings.  I aim to drink 100 ounces a day which is no simple feat, but I’m sharing some of my favorite tips to take your hydration situation to a whole new level.  Drink that water, girl!

start with fresh water

I used to be a bottled water drinker because I couldn’t stand the taste of water that didn’t taste perfect (I know, that sounds high maintenance) but I couldn’t help but thinking I was drinking something not pure.  Bottled water not only is a waste of money since its incredibly overpriced, but the extra plastic bottles end up in landfills, in oceans, and pollute our planet.  I’ve since switched over to filtering my own water.  I picked my Brita up on a grocery trip to Safeway and it is definitely more economical and planet friendly than bottled water.  At less than $30, my Brita pitcher practically paid for itself and it reduces all of the chlorine taste that bothered me before.  I also love being able to bring the pitcher to the dining table during meals for easy refills.

Oh… and not to mention my hero Steph Curry from the Golden State Warriors has teamed up with Brita to share the importance of drinking clean water!  You guys…my local Warriors are going to win the NBA Finals again this year, I can feel it!

Once I have my crisp and clean water, I’ll sometimes add fresh fruit to jazz it up a bit!  I’m a diehard fan of water with lemon but also love the combination of strawberries with mint, black cherries, and lemon with kiwi.  Make sure you muddle the fruit in your container first to bring out the juices to really enhance your water.

Since I’ve made a pledge to myself to avoid single-use plastic water bottles, I’ve developed quite the collection of various jars, bottles, and containers that I use based on what I’m doing.  If I’m at home I’ll use a large glass mason jar with a straw (love these plastic ones because they are so durable!).  If I’m on the go or headed to a fitness class, I’ll opt for one of the metal insulated bottles so it keeps my water cold for hours.  I recently found this gold bottle and it’s been on constant rotation!

    I drink a lot of water. I especially love to add cucumber slices or lemon juice. I think adding flavor makes me want to drink more.

    It’s so hard for me to get my water in. It’s just so bland and boring! Once I started flavoring it, though, it became much easier.

    Great tips! I also find there are some great apps available for download that help remind you to drink more. Plant Nanny is my personal favorite.

    There is nothing better than a glass of ice cold water on a hot summer day. I like to keep my Brita pitcher in the fridge so I can access chilled water all day long.

    I’m all about the right water bottle AND a big straw. SOmehow, it’s easier for me to take big gulps in between focusing with a big one!

    These are great tips! I LOVE my Brita filter, though I keep forgetting to use it. I need to start doing more flavored waters, at least adding lemons. It would help a ton.

    As odd as it may sound, I find that I drink more water when I am drinking from a pretty water bottle! Also, I love adding fruits to my water. Some of my favorites to use are strawberries and blackberries.

    I love adding frozen blueberries to my water. I love my Brita water filter. I have been drinking a lot more water since i quit my diet coke addiction.

    I need to get some good reusable water bottles. We currently have well water at our home, so we’ve been using a ton of water bottles. I may just need to buy a big brita and then filling up my water bottles. I do love adding fruit to my water, because it actually makes me drink it!

    I love this post, there really can’t be enough articles and posts about water and its necessity for our lives. Having it with fruits actually makes it more doable for the sensitive tastes or should I say, more fruitful.

    I always drink lemon water, which is not so good for your teeth but I cannot stand plain water. Berries would be nice !

Finally tried @dintaifungusa and wow! So good! Her Finally tried @dintaifungusa and wow! So good! Here’s what we ordered:

🌟Cucumber Salad - a bright and light starter I’d love to make these at home (and @glucosegoddess would be proud!)
🌟String Beans with Garlic - I would have eaten 3 more orders of this had they not been $16/each. I’ve already been searching for copy cat recipes because they are just SO DAMN GOOD
🌟Kurobuta Pork Xiao Long Bao - these are their classic soup dumpling and very yummy and chewy and I loved the soy-vinegar sauce pairing with it
🌟 Sticky Rice & Kurobuta Pork Shao Mai - these were recommended in a TikTok video but they weren’t my favorite. The rice plus the dough was just too much IMO
🌟 Chicken Spicy Wontons - these were very good! I would drink the bowl of sauce if no one was watching…
🌟 Chocolate & Mochi Xiao Long Bao - wow, what a great to end the meal! We don’t order dessert often but this really good. Love the melty creamy chocolate!

I waited to share putting my 2023 vision board tog I waited to share putting my 2023 vision board together until late January because there it’s so much buzz around the new year and goal setting around the start of the new year…but how about waiting until the buzz around it starts to fade? I’ve been committed since 12/31/2022 but if you need some fresh inspiration for 2023…here you go!

Last year I made a digital vision board in Canva with about 8 vague photos and I never looked at it. This year, I got a huge poster board and nearly 100 very specific images of the things I want. VERY specific. In the short 3 weeks having this propped up in my office and seeing it each day, I’m already seeing the needle moving on these items!
