Last week I attended a showing of Priscilla at the SHN Orpheum Theater with a handful of San Francisco’s most stylish bloggers and was able to checkout an amazing behind-the-scenes tour of the costumes.
It was really interesting to see how detailed and intricate the costumes were up close–normally when watching a show at the theater, its hard to see the detail unless you’re sitting front row. The costumes were just unreal, the creative minds that came up with them truly had dreamt up some unique costumes. I really loved seeing how the costumes and headdresses were set out, ready for the actors to do quick costume changes.
For my theater look, I wanted something dramatic that would stand out against the costumes. I decided to wear my Saskia maxi skirt from Baukjen for its deep wine color (totally red carpet ready!) and the dramatic, draped fabric which looked great against the the stage’s curtains. To bring a little sparkle, I paired the skirt with an amazing Carolina Herrera top with the most intricate glass beading detail–which I scored at the GILT warehouse sale for nearly 95% off retail, probably one of my biggest fashion scores to date!
A big thank you to SHN for hosting the event and inviting me! I had such a wonderful time!
