Casaluna Bedding Review

I’m very excited to share our Casaluna bedding review after two years of daily use in our bed! Since we moved into our house two years ago, we’ve been falling short on house projects and finding ways to make our space complete. However, now that we have much more time at home in the evenings and weekends, we’ve been able to refresh our space with new home decor items and furniture pieces (like this incredible mid-century modern chair). When I found out about Target’s new Casaluna collection, I knew I was ready to update our bedding! Check out our Casaluna bedding review below.

Purchasing our Casaluna Bedding

Casaluna is a new Target-exclusive brand and I am so excited to share my Casaluna bedding review after exploring and trying it out for two years! Their slogan is “where calm and comfort are naturally at home” and I could not agree more as the photo above says it all! Since putting their bedding on our bed, it truly feels like we are staying in a relaxing spa resort. I have never felt such comfort crawling into a bedding set I purchased myself!

Having purchased bedding from Target in the past, I was skeptical, but the Casaluna products did more than deliver. Ultimately, we decided on the Heavyweight Linen Blend Comforter & Sham Set in the color Natural (if you know me this definitely won’t be a surprise haha) so that we could have the ability to add pops of color as the seasons change. The linen material is light and breathable but also keeps us perfectly warm on chilly nights. The material is machine-washable, which is rare for linens, but for us, with a dog and a baby, it is super important that we can throw things in the washing machine if needed.

In the past, I have mixed and matched sheets, bedding, and shams, but this time I knew I wanted to get an entire set that worked well together. For the rest of fall, I might add a few seasonal throw pillows on the bed or a decorative blanket and as seasons change, swap them out.

Casaluna Bedding Shams

In addition to the bedding set, we also picked up a few extra shams for the pillows. There were a few different color options that Casaluna had in terms of shams, but we went with the simple design, with a fringe around the outside. I felt as though that one best tied in with the style of our bedroom, but above all 3 of the available options, The one to the far left is what we purchased!

When reviewing our Casaluna bedding, it is important to test the wear and tear of everyday life. First, we have a toddler and baby who drink milk in bed and spills happen. Secondly, our sweet pup Lola likes to jump up on the foot of the bed and curl up. So ultimately, we were concerned with how well this Casaluna bedding would hold up getting stains on it daily, and how it would hold up to washing. Washing this bedding is so easy. The more times you wash it, the better it gets in my opinion. I have additional washing information below in this review in my FAQs section.

Finally, we grabbed up one of these super-soft Oversized Chunky Hand Knit Decorative Bed Throw. We love snuggling up with a good throw on the couch or before we fully get into our bed. Of course, we decided on the Natural color for this again, but I definitely could have been convinced to grab the Clay color for all the fall vibes!

Where can you buy Casaluna bedding?

Casaluna bedding is sold and you can shop at Target in-store and online at Target.com. The Casaluna collection includes bedding (with comforters, sheets, pillows, and blankets), bath towels, and fragrance (including candles and oil diffusers). I recommend purchasing online as the selection in-store can be hit or miss case.

Should I buy Casaluna bedding in the store? 

While Target stores offer a great selection of Casaluna bedding, I found shopping online to be a smoother experience. In-store displays can get rumpled and picked over, leaving you with limited options, especially for popular colors or sizes. Shopping online lets you browse the full selection from the comfort of your couch, ensuring you snag the perfect shade and size for your dream bedding setup!

Can I return my Casaluna bedding if I don’t like it?

Most new, unopened items sold by Target and returned within 90 days will be eligible for a refund or exchange. The return period for items purchased on Target.com starts once the order is invoiced, which occurs when any part of the order is shipped, delivered by a Shipt shopper, or prepared for pickup. Some Target-sold items have a modified return policy, which is detailed on the receipt, packing slip, Target policy board (refund exceptions), Target.com, or in the item’s description. Opened or damaged items, or those without a receipt, may not qualify for a refund or exchange.

What colors does Casaluna bedding come in?

Casaluna bedding comes in 13 different colors, listed below. Ultimately, I don’t think the color names accurately reflect the true colors of the Casaluna bedding, so I’m adding my perspective of the actual color options here in my Casaluna bedding review. How do you wash Casaluna bedding?

According to the care instructions, Casaluna bedding can be washed “on cold, delicate wash with light colors, bleach, when needed, tumble dry low”. As a user, I personally always wash on warm or hot and have never had a problem. Our Casaluna bedding looks just as great as when we first bought it from Target.

How should I store my Casaluna bedding?

I would say that the best way to store your Casaluna bedding is by utilizing breathable storage containers or bags, such as cotton or linen storage bags, which prevent moisture buildup. Fold bedding neatly to minimize wrinkles and damage, and store in a cool, dry place like a linen closet or under-bed storage.

Is Casaluna a non-toxic and good comforter brand?

NYTimes has advised that Target’s Casaluna comforter is the least expensive option in our comforter guide that is both RDS and Oeko-Tex certified, the latter meaning that every component has been tested and found free of certain harmful substances. Target has also informed that it is Made in Green by OEKO-TEX which is independently certified for safety from harmful substances.

What is Casaluna bedding made of?

The Heavy Weight Linen Blend Collection features items crafted from a mix of draped linen and rayon, offering an exceptionally soft texture that invites you to relax in comfort. The Cashmere Blend Collection boasts pieces that combine cotton and cashmere, resulting in an indulgently soft touch.

Does the Casaluna comforter size King fit a California King?

Yes, the Casaluna King size comforter fits both King and California King mattresses. The dimensions of the King comforter measure 110″W x 96″ L which fits both mattress sizes.

Can you bleach the Casaluna white linen blend comforter and shams?

Yes, you can bleach Casaluna white bedding according to the care instructions on the tag. For bright whites, I always use OxiClean White Revive Laundry Whitener Stain Remover and it removes stains (dog paw prints, strawberry stains from the kids, etc) and makes it look brand new.
